New Michigan Member Here
Hello All,
Just signed up after purchasing a new to me 2002 Monte Carlo SS yesterday. I am already in love with this car. I had a 2000 Firebird with the 3800 V6 but sold it last year and regretted it to some degree. I loved the gas mileage out of this engine and the power as well, thought it was a very good trade off. So I opted for something sporty with the same engine, but needed FWD for the traction in the snow. My F-150 is approaching 200K miles and with the lift and 35's, it just wasn't a practical DD even in the Michigan winter months. I picked up the SS from a Volvo Dealer of all places and got a screamin deal. I've been waiting 8 months for the right deal and right car to come along and it finally happened:) It looks like there are some great resources on here and I am looking forward to taking advantage of everything this site has to offer. Can't wait to start modding my new whip! |

Welcome to the Forum! Quite a few of us Michiganders on here. I'm in the Ann Arbor area so not too far from you.
Also, if you're interested, we do hold Monte Carlo Meets in Michigan throughout the year and our first one of 2014 is coming up on Saturday, May 17th. The information for that one is here > https://montecarloforum.com/forum/me...-2014-a-46709/. |

Thanks everyone. I haven't taken any pics yet, but the craigslist listing is still up so the dealer pics of it can be found here:
2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Coupe SS - I got the car for just over $4,400 after I told him I was walking if he couldn't get it done for that. Took some haggling but he finally caved;) 1 prior owner and all maintenance was done at my local Chevy dealer. I can't believe how money much the SSes still cost. Thanks for the heads up on the meet 06mistreSS, I'll try to make it. I use to work in Ann Arbor for 7 years close to the 777 building and use to live in Whitmore Lake. |

Welcome to the forum. Good pick with getting the high sport addition. You won't be disappointed with it especially driving it in the snow. They do well at that.

Welcome another 2002 SS
