Hey,
Im Matt im 21 and ive been poking around so i figured id introduce myself.
I currently own an 86 Monte Carlo SS with 120k, that needs a little bit of work. Ive been working on it as a restomod and the interior is in great shape, runs and drives although im currently in the process of installing headers (Hooker 2451s), and the exterior is what needs work, some new body panels and paint and itll be good. (During this outrageous October snow storm a tree fell on my house and Monte.) But this is it:

Also, im bout 95% sure i will be purchasing a 2000 Monte Carlo SS from my boss to replace my daily driver. it has 123k on it, he says it stalls out on occasion and thinks its the fuel pump but will look into it more when i get it. It also got sideswiped while parked so the door is a little scraped up, the fender is damaged and the front bumper is cracked. He was gonna scrap it if he couldnt sell it, and i couldnt let a running Monte go to waste...so hopefully soon.
Thanks and ill see you on here
-Matt

Welcome to the site Matt. That looks like a nice monte you have there. Is it going to get a full restoration after you get the 2000 for your DD. Also post pics when you get the 2000.

Welcome to the forum.

The interior of your 86 looks great. Did you have to do a lot of work inside? Like re-upholster seats, repair/replace dash? All you need inside is the horn button and you're good to go.

The exterior needs work, but looks solid from the pictures. Doesn't look like it's completely rusted out or anything. Have you found replacement decals for the exterior if/when you repaint the car?

If you don't mind front wheel drives, a 1995-2007 Monte is a great daily driver. The 2006 & 2007 Monte SS even has a V8 if you insist on a V8. But if all you really want is a very affordable daily driver that has plenty of room, but still good on gas, you can't go wrong with a 1995-1999 (5th generation).
