Default New to the MC forum

Hello, my name is Josh and I'm new here to the forums. Currently I own a 95' Monte Carlo LS however it's going the way of old yeller.

I just purchased a 99' Monte Carlo Z34 and can't wait to get it. I previously owned a 94' Lumina Z34 however 2 transmissions later I gave up on it.

From what I know, the sunroof needs to be fixed. I found a website off of google with rebuilt guides. Other than that, a little bit of rust is forming in the rear quarter panels directly above the tires. I live in Minnesota so it'll be high on my list of priorities. Any other mid westerners out there?

Cool

Welcome to the Forum...I'm from the Midwest - St. Louis, Missouri. I bought a 2007 Monte last July, and so far rust hasn't been a problem. Mine has the sunroof too - what kind of fixing does your's need?

From what I've read, the 5th gen sunroof tracks are built from super cheap plastic that goes in no time flat.

1995-1999 Chevrolet Lumina/Monte Carlo Sunroof Information Page

That's the site I found offering reproduced guides and modules. Looks like a good weekend project once I get the car next week. Here in MN they dump salt during the winter like it's going out of style. I really want to nip the rust asap cause one more winter here and it'll be completely through. On a side note, absolutely love the 1/1.5 wide body cars during the winter. Even though front wheel isn't as fun to drive as rear wheel, completely makes up for it in the winter.

Welcome! Originally grew up in MI myself. Been all over the country since then though. Living in the South now. I don't miss the heavily salted roads!

I bet, amazingly enough though the LS doesn't have a lick of rust on it. Purchased in Las Vegas and has been in Minnesota going on 8 years now.

Thanks! Exactly the reason why I joined up. Really looking forward to make the new Z34 my own.
