New Guy Old Car

Hello,
Just bought a 1988 Monte Carlo SS that hasn't run in 18 years. Its been garaged and under a car cover since 1999. Having it towed to my house. Any advice on what to expect from a car that hasn't run in forever? I'm guessing bad fuel, bad brakes and dry rotted hoses. It's only got 8000 miles on it and I'm hoping it's not too much of a hassle. Any advice out there?

I dont have much advice other than possibly removing the valve covers and making sure you lube everything up real well before trying to start it..

I just wanted to say wow, what a find.

8000 miles, wow!

Put some pics up when you get a chance.

Yup it's pretty cool. The owner took off the wheels when he brought it home and put them in the house in bags and drove on other wheels to save the new ones for later.
So the original perfect tires and rims are going to be put on.
I'm just going to shine it up and get it running and move it along.
He also has a 1966 GTO that is sitting next to it. Same deal, hasn't moved in 19 years. The guy was a bit odd and he didn't leave the house in 19 years either. Died on the couch.
My buddy is selling it all off. I'll put up some pics when it's good to go. Thanks for the input.

I hate you....

But seriously, please PM me once you start working on the car. About six years ago, I started developing a TV series about a restauranteur who, among other things, finds an '87 Aerocoupe in about the same circumstances, got it running as his daily driver, and is now restoring it. I would really like to find out what you need to do to this thing, and use it in my scripts. I'll even give you credit in the ones where I use it.
