new chevy guy from southern indiana, louisville ky area.
just wanted say hi. I'm on here on behalf of my mothers 2001 SS. forums are a great way to find out wtf is wrong with your car....so that's why i'm here 
we purchased the car new in 2000, white, all options and it's been a pretty good car. did have some of the common transmission problems that where luckily covered by the warranty. Oh and extensive fights over the middle console peeling.... i'm sure you've all experienced this. if you have a 2000-2005
I myself have owned only chevy "super cars" and one ford ranger in my life time. ok maybe not super cars, but 3 camaros; 1991 camaro rs, 1995 camaro z28 6 speed, 1998 camaro z28 auto, and now a 2001 corvette 6 speed with varraram intake, corsa pacecar exhaust, hurst short throw shifter, kooks long tube headers, hid headlights now, and 125 shot of nos.
I'm always on corvetteforums.com trying to figure out wtf is wrong with my car, so i figured this would be a great place to join up with the monte. I hope that the chevy comradely is as strong here as it is there. well thanks for letting me join, and I'll try to keep you up to date with my problems, and fixes as I go, just like I do with my car. ttyl.
Oh and if you're interested here is a link to my youtube channel. few how to videos and stuff on the vette. I'm currently trying to video tape my ability find problems with everything, and review them.

Hello zwaldo, Your not to far south of me. Have you had a chance to cruise your Vette up here to Effingham Il.? This town gets swamped with vetts when MidAmerica Corvette holds its fun fest. They have a cool little museum there too.
