iss still clicking .but not as bad.the noise is not as loud.so it did work.and at low speed.when staionary still hear that clicking.the gm mechanic told me to dont replace to just have it lubed,call the part dept.he told me the same thing have it lubed.the new iss has the same issue.what is the best option 80 or 90 dollars or a new iss put in 250 or more.thankyou for all this great advice on this issue.dominic

no i had to pay for my iss to get lubed 3 years ago.80 dollars at the time.they put a new rack in mine .anything undewarranty they wanted to put a new part in.all abot commision.i used that lithium grease in the knuckles in the steering shaft the noise is not as loud so it did work to a point.dominic

trying to find exhaust tips for 2002 montecarlo ss.tried autoparts their al to small need 3in od

i was told its only like 10 15 $ to fix. if you wanna replace it the part itself is linked up above, only like 70$.

the problem i have is trying to get the intermediate shaft out.with afloor jack and jack stand.not alot of room to work.i read your link thanks.i also used the lithim grease that did help.not as loud.the problem i have is getting the iss out to grease. 10 to 20dollars in grease.i will get it.fighting getting this iss out.thanks for your help

yeah some parts are a bear to get out. i had issues gettin my tie rod end off my mirage. after three hours and alot of cuts and bruises later i got it off lol. maybe you should find somewhere to use a lift?? i have access to a lift for 4.50 / hr. its nice.

not able to reply to question .got to log in and out is anyone else having a problem?their use to be a couple of bays that you could rent buy the hour with a lift .they closed them all.insurance was to expensive.people i guess were getting hurt and did not know how to use the lifts

oh that sucks, i use them on an air force base .
they just got a 15000$ welder and plasma cutter

You should try getting the #8 plug out of an L98 Corvette engine.

I just brought mine back to the dealer this morning for that clicking noise. It was warranty but only took them 25 minutes so I'm guessing they just lubed it up.
