How to clean the engine bay the right and safe way?
I was wondering what was the right and safe way. Seen way to many different ways about going about this. Any info?

The first time you clean it, just wrap up electronics with a little aluminum foil, spray on a degreaser, and lightly hose it off. Then I like to park it with the hood open in the sun to dry.
Then whenever you wash the car, wipe down the engine. It really helps keep it clean. Then when you are just doing touch-ups, I like to use Simple Green and a rag. |
Also toothbrushes and q-tips come in handy for the tight spots.

I use Simple Green. It does the same job as a Degrees But cost less and you get More of it. Other than that I have to agree with th's Old Tooth Brush and the Q-Tips. That's what we used to clean the Stalls in the Navy. Lol And Wrapping your electronics with aluminum foil or Glad wrap is always a good idea!

Simple Green, any soft brush to "agitate" the dirty areas, hose her down.
I don't cover anything, just don't spray anything in the air intake, don't go crazy (a little more then a mist will do) around anything like vac lines and electronics. Remember, the engine is outside, it gets naturally moist from things like condensation and moisture in the air. |
:iagree:
