Default Hey all, n00b here!

Hey guys, new fish here. Picked up my first Monte a few months ago. An 85 SS in damn near spotless original condition with only 48k on the ticker. It was missing a taillight emblem insert and the dash emblem, both of which Mike's Montes helped me acquire. T-tops are the C&C variety. Gives me a grin every time I fire it up!

Hello and Welcome to the forum, appears you lucked into a sweet low mile 85 SS. That is as cool as all heck.

Thanks! It is hella cool. It would be even cooler if I could find a replacement passenger t-top...one popped off the other day going down the highway over a bridge and went into the river! Scared the living crap outta my wife.

I bet, something like that coming off at speed, .....zzing it's gone. Perhaps this place may have what your after or they could tell you where to get that part.

Thanks. They're on my list to call. Evidently these C&C t-tops are rarer than hen's teeth. I hope I don't have to resort to chopping off the top and putting on a hard top...flying down the road with the t's out is just too frakkin awesome for words and I would definitely miss it.

Thanks. Here are some more shots. Still not sure what is up with the chrome stripping at the top, but I have to take it in to have the windshield seal redone, so I may have the body shop rip that crap off and touch up whatever needs touching up...that is if I get lucky and find another t-top and don't have to wind up going hard top.
