What would be thre right part number for the front struts on a 2007 SS with the 18" wheels? I read on one posting it is 171661 so I bought a pair and the perch is 1" to low. I want to keep my stock tire size but can't find a part number for the front. The backs aren't an issue. Thank you for your help and I enjoy the site.

 

Welcome, what brand struts did you go with? I bought Bilstein struts back in 2012 for mine but Bilstein had their own part numbers for them.

 

They are Unity, direct Monroe copy, even same part number.

 

I too need to know this. I am having a hard time finding for 18 inch rims. Any suggestions on where I can get them for the front.

 

I think the dealer might be the only place. They might have NOS parts. I checked all sources in Phoenix and on-line and could only get the rear for 18" rims. Manufactures have to keep parts for 10 years so NOS might be our only chance. Not enough cars made with the 18" option to justify production runs this far after the car is out of production.

The dealer does not have the complete assembly have to buy in pieces.

 

Just to clarify my above post, those Bilstein's I bought were the strut only, not full assemblies.

 

Yes I figured that but you really would not think it would be so hard to find the complete assembly for factory rims.

 

I finally found a set at 1a auto. Thank God. Been looking for 4 days now.
