2004 SS Power Steering

I have a 2004 SS Hearing the power steering groan. Do i remove the sensor to check the fluid level or is this a shop issue?

Power steering pump is located on engine close to the firewall. Remove the car and check the fluid level. Good luck

Hey Jeff
Thanks for the welcome. Yes I looked for the location in my manual. It shows the reservoir passenger side in front of the alternator. with a cap as one would expect. To my dismay it is not there. There are no other reservoirs on the fire wall. Transaxle dip stick is all. There appears to be a space large enough for a reservoir where noted in the manual. The only device in that space is what appears to be a solenoid. I am baffled at this point.

The pump is underneath the alternator and is rather hard to see and get to but is accessible. If you can't find it bring it to a oil change shop they can help you.

Hey Jeff

Thanks for your reply and I am sorry I didn't get back with you sooner. I found it earlier by a picture i found. I guess they put it in a different place on the 3800. as opposed to the 3.4. Any how I removed the radiator overflow and it was fairly simple. 14 years and never any issues. Great car. only needed a small amount of fluid to get to the lower level line. I will be keeping an eye and ear open. Once again I appreciate your help.
Have you any experience with the remote amp. That manual volume control doesn't respond and I don't seem to be getting the power output from the amp. Both 12 volt sources are present at the amp.I dont have an electrical wiring diagram. I wanted to check the sensor for auto resistance or miliamp signal. I tried to get in touch with Panasonic to no avail

Regards
Barry
