Had some time, so I looked around and hoped to find an answer that you missed online. From everything I found, not 1 has mentioned a fiberglass hood as an option, even weights are the same in specs. Here is the best review I found 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Review By Jim Flammang . I'm pretty sure that hood would be mentioned as a qualifier for resale authenticity... Good luck to you on finding a definitive answer.

ive never heard of any monte coming with a fiber glass hood...

I've never heard of or could find any confirmation that those years or model came with a fiberglass hood :confused: It may have been a dealer installed option ? Keep checking back to see what some of our Monte Carlo historians may post...

Some owner's believe anything they are told without questions...And they will tell you it's the truth....Yes, the lot kid @ the dealership told me it was true :)
