2001 Monte Carlo SS - Lexington, SC
I just purchased a 2001 Monte Carlo SS with a bad upper intake manifold. I am hoping to get it running again with a new one - though if need be - I will replace the engine. Once running, I plan to paint it Sublime Green - a very visible color to say the least.
This will be my second Monte Carlo. I had a 76 Monte Carlo (second Owner) and loved driving it - but this was back int he day of gas shortages and rising prices. I had to trade it in on a Honda Civic for my 110 mile round trip commute to work. The Monte joins my stable of older vehicles. My newest car is a 2003 Volvo V40 with just under a quarter of a million miles on it. Then the Monte Carlo. Next in line is a newly acquired 1992 Buick century. I am overhauling the front and rear suspension and working on the engine. Then there is the 1970 Chevy C10 which is being completely redone - though taking much longer than I ever anticipated. Priority - Get the Buick in tip top running shape, move to the Volvo and do maintenance including replacement of the Power Steering Pump and hoses and then to the Monte Carlo. Hope to have it on the road this fall and painted next summer. Mark Fox Lexington, Sc |
