The first race of the year to be won is available and Daytona 500 qualifying afterwords. They're saying they're going to teh new format for even Daytona qualifying, and then still run 150 mile qualifying races. Sounds like a cluster**** waiting ot happen.

I don't know why anyone would even try during qualifying for the 500 unless you need to race to make the race. The starting position couldn't mean less in a race like the 500. Although getting the pole apparently gives you lifetime entry to the Sprint Unlimited (we'll call that "the Danica rule").
Why are they even bothering with the lap 25 competition caution / segment break during the unlimited? With 50 laps remaining after that, I can't see that pit stop affecting too much. And a green flag stop would apply more pressure to get the stop right.
It's Daytona, so it should be fun and a crap shoot. Jr is the best at this track. I bet I'm the only pickin' him to win...
