It's off to Joliet, Ill to the Chicagoland Speedway! Nestled within sight of historic US Route 66 (1926-1941 route, 1941-1986 Route 66 ALT, currently SR 53), and right next to Route 66 speedway ( a dirt track), this place offers all the boredom of Kansas, Las Vegas, and is really too far from the city with traffic to hardly justify calling it Chicago so I guess it's "Chicagoland." It's also south of I-80, which to the locals, means it isn't really "Chicagoland" anymore, but I digress......

I mean, in all honesty, if the Cubs are playing that afternoon, it will be more exciting to see if they keep their hot streak towards playoffs going or if they finally pull one of their famous chokes as they usually do in September.

Any who, I guess we've got to drag ourselves to the midwest for this race.... which is sure to see Gibbs and Penske run well, possibly the 4 and 41 come back to life like they did in Darlington, and a few competition debris cautions to keep things "interesting."

But on a more positive note, congrats to JuniorCar Brent for accumulating 991 points across 8 races to lead the Segment points! Another good run here could mean he gets the most points anyone has ever accrued in a 9 race span in this series 5 year history and win Segment 3. There is usually a team that misses teh chase and ends up having a good chase run, yet didn't get in the Chase. I'm thinking that will be Aric Almirola or Kasey Kahne.
