This year, the All Star Opener will be run on Friday night before the truck race instead of an hour or so before the main event.

Remember that all picks this week will be in good fun, points will not be gained this week twoards segment or overall standings....

The All Star Opener

This is the Friday night special. It will consist of all drivers who have not won a race in the past year, not won the all star race in the past 10 years, and have not won a Sprint Cup championship. So there are the obvious choices... Danica Patrick, David Gilliland, Michael McDowell, and otehr guys like Ricky Stenhouse, Marcos Ambrose, Aric Almirola, Casey Mears, Trevor Bayne, Clint Bowyer, and others!!!

The All Star Race

I haven't heard much about the format this year. I know the qualifying procedure was popular last year... hitting pit road with no speed limit. I think the 4 20 lap segments with a 10 lap shootout was popular too... but we'll see what htey announce.
