Duels
#11
Well Duel #1 has suddenly become more important I guess. Winner of Duel #1 get the pole for the Daytona 500, unless its Dale Jr. who has guaranteed his last place start. The only exception for him starting last now would be if someone else goes to a backup car (or engine transplant, etc) after the Duels.
Anyways, I still think it going to be a Hendricks front row.
Duel #1
1. Jimmie Johnson
2. Mark Martin
3. Tony Stewart
Last: Kevin Conway
1st caution: Kevin Conway (&Peblo)
# of cautions: 3
It seems that all the Toyota got piled into Duel #2. All of JGR and MWR are in that pool. This should make this an easy race for anybody in a Chevy. Jeff Gordon doesn't need to win it and he won't - he'll risk nothing. Enough of Roush guys are in there to make a stand too
Duel #2
1. Clint Bowyer
2. Jeff Burton
3. Carl Edwards
last: Derrick Cope (why bother?)
1st caution: Robby Gordon
# of cautions: 3
But even more important to pick from these Duels is who will race their way into the Daytona 500?
Last years top 35 are guaranteed (and of course, lots of points were traded). Bill Elliot, Joe Nemechek and Travis Kvapil have locked in on speed. Terry Labonte will use the championship provisional to start. Essentially, that leaves 4 spots open for these drivers to content for (my picks in bold):
Derrick Cope
Micheal Waltrip
Casey Mears
Brian Keselowski
Todd Bodine
Micheal MacDowell
Dave Blaney
Kevin Conway
JJ Yeley
