Default Windshield decal removal...

Hello (1st post!)

I own a 2002 monte SS pace car and i'm thinking about removing the "monte carlo" decals from the windshield (because i feel like it). Whats the safest way to do this? Can I just use my fingernail and peel them off? (i'd hate to try and have the decals rip to the point that i'd have to use a razor to finish.

Default RE: Windshield decal removal...

if you use a windsheild cleaner like windex on it and then WHILE STILL WET use a razor blade at a low angel to the glass it will not scratch the glass.

But after them being there this long it might be tuff to try and peel them off.
But if you get a corner to come up then just pull it back on its self this will help it pull off wiht out breaking or tearing up the vinal .

but the best way is to heat it up with a hair dryer and see if you can find one of the plastic razor blades they are nothing more then a sharp plastic paddel like deal and they work great and are soft enough you wont ger in to the paint etc... as easily.

If it is on paint that you want them off then you are best going to eastwood.com and order thier decale remover kit or the wheel. they go in to a drill and are made of rubber and they will eat them off the car with out hurting paint.

then when all said and done either you do it or take it someplace and have them buff the paint up to a nice shine and you will not see where they were as easily on the paint.

Good luck
