Just wanted to get some disussion/opinions going about what engine oil you all prefer and use in your cars. I searched the threads and didn't see any about it. Just curious more than anything. Conventional-Synthetic What weight. Etc. I use Mobil one 5w30. Mobil one has a 10w30 that is marketed for higher mileage vehicles, what are your thoughts about that. Thanks to all replies.

Royal Purple 10w-30 since 60xxx

 

5-30W GTX High Milage. I'm at 120k, used it since 90k.
Its the best non sythetic you can get, i'd go full synth but synthetics eat up seals.

 

On both cars I use all natural Penzoil - 03 10w30 and 05 5w30. Change the 05's oil about every 2500-3000 miles and the 03 since it doesn't get driven much about once or twice a year.

 

Bought my alero 3 months ago did my oil changed few weeks ago Im Still not sure on what to use but when i went to the store i decied on
5W-30 Royal Purple with wix filter. car has 63,000kms

 

i have to use 10w30 becase that wat the cap sayes. I use Quaker State and lucas oil additive. I want to use Royal Purple tho. I also use a K&N performance oil filter. and i got about 160k miles

if your car uses 5w30 run 10w30 in the warmer months and 5w30 in the colder months. running 10w30 in the summer month because is a heavyer oil it wont burn up as quickly

 

GothKid. Yea everyone at the shop i work at always says in summer try 10W30. Mabby next oil change.

Hey anyone out thier know if thiers like a synthetic oil filters I should use with synthetic oil? or is just the normal Wix filter will do? Or evan a cross number to a larger filter?

 

i use mobil 1 5w30. just had the oil changed a couple weeks ago and againt my request, he used a fram oil filter. :P

 

Wix is a good filter. I use the AC pf-52. Its a little bit bigger than the regular ac.
