Under the fuel tank

Hey guys under the fuel tank there's a metal cover & mine has come loose. Does anyone know what I need fix this? So far ive been holding it up with a bungy cord but that cant last long.

if you could post a close up picture it would help a lot. then we can see what caused it to become loose to begin with possibly.

you are right though that cord probably won't hold up for long

well i know why it came loose, i let my sister borrow my car & long story short she ran over a stop sign & knocked it loose

Hey its the problem i have and i believe its a heat shield, for the tank from the exaust pipes anyone help?

It's the heat shield for the gas tank,,,, i would find some bolts and bolt it back up. unless its damaged to the point where you would have to get a new one.

My covers on my truck were full of dirt and gravel making it sag down. I would make sure there is nothing in there first before you fix it. If the original bolt location are rotted out you may have to fabricate some type of bracket to hold it up.
