Default trunk wont open?

hey guys the button for the trunk inside the car and on the pod wont work. shortly after this happened...1 day...my right tail light will light up but wont show brake light or blinker signals. i checked the connections and think ive came to the conclusion that its the BCM body control module. i found the trunk release wire after the BCM and gave it 12 volts directly and the trunk popped right open. is its gotta be the BCM? has anyone else found this problems solution? i guess theres a bullitin about this problem for the montes and impalas in 2006 and 2007. any information would be great to know. thanks

yea turned out there was some frayed n jabbed wires and must have scraped the rubber housing off of and left the wires exposed. It musta happened when i was feeding my metal snake through the firewall to run wires. honest mistake lol. When i noticed the green and corroded wires i just sniped and soldered back together with the help of my mechanic.

Default You may be right?

Had the exact same issue this week with my '02. I had 3 eng codes pop up and the trac control light came on. Took it to the dealer, they said my tail light switch went bad, (tail lights inop) and replaced it for $90. Headed for home, stopped at the store, went to unlock the trunk with my fob, and release wouldn't work. Lights flashed, but interior and fob switch would not open the trunk. When I dropped the car off at the dealer, got my hat out of the trunk and it worked then. Now, coincidence? Don't think so. 5 months ago I took off the tail lights when I ordered new ones. Had to reinstall them when the replacements that came turned out to be wrong. more coincidence? Anyway, called the dealer when I got home, mech said he touched nothing but the switch? Will take it back on Monday. Please understand, my baby has 53k, is about as pristine as humanly possible, and has never been a problem child. Anyone have any further insights? Thank You and Merry Christmas.

Default Dude i figured it out

Same problem, there’s a fuse under the hood 10amp right side about mid way down that somehow can make your trunk and right blinker not work. Putting it out there. If your blinker and turn doesn’t work check your right side 10amp fuses.
