Troubleshooting a Noise

I just acquired an 02 with 200K mi.

It is speed related and comes and goes. I was hoping it was the speed-o cable flopping around. There is a large cable near the airbox that goes to the center of the firewall and it is unsecured. I held it from moving with tiewraps but no help. Is that the speed-o cable and do they often make noise? I hope it is not a cv joint starting to go bad. It almost doesn't sound like one and it makes noise going straight.

Thanks,
Gib

Nobody guessed wheel bearing hub... After a little research, now I find that they are a frequent problem. Some people warn that we should avoid the cheaper parts and I bet some of the do it yourselfers are over-torquing them. So the search for good quality parts at a good price has begun... rockauto seems to have napas top of the line at a better price... hmm

just for the heck of it check Amazon out, I bought a Timken wheel bearing there for $85 for my 06 monte and I was told that Timken is one of the best out there.....

Thanks,

Seems like Timken is cheaper than National and SKF.
