Trans Dipstick rubbing against steering rack
I’d only seen this across other forums once and no answer was ever provided so hopefully this helps someone. If you have replaced the transmission, and dropped it out the bottom, more than likely, your entire drivetrain was supported between the top motor mounts and a support bar over the struts momentarily while the subframe was removed. The weight of that will break in the rubber bushings, allowing just enough slack in the mounts to lean back on the rack lines. You’ll notice hard shifts and a small vibration, eventually, the rack will leak and all your ps fluid is gone. I got poly motor mounts from ZZP, just the bushings, and 1 inch shorter dog bone mounts. The shorter mounts may not be necessary, I just got them to have some more clearance over the stock setup.
