Supercharger belt too loose?

I recently took off my supercharger belt and serpentine belt to replace them….. now the supercharger belt is too loose and I’m not sure what went wrong, It was squeaking before so I thought it was belts as they haven’t been changed in a while…. Could it be supercharger belt tensioner gone bad ? How could I check if it’s the tensioner ?

Is the belt routed correctly? Is the new belt the right size?

Catastrophic tensioner failures are easy to spot. Put your wrench on it and see how it moves. If it flops around like a noodle, the spring broke. If its very easy to move and puts almost no pressure on the belt when you take your wrench off, it probably broke a single coil or got weak.

There is the chance it could be getting weak but just not that far and the right way to check that is measuring belt deflection, although TBH I've never bothered. If it has belt issues and or the tensioner feels weak when you turn it (you'll know, they're usually pretty strong), then I just go grab a new one.

I believe it’s routed properly…. From the diagrams I see. I purchased the tensioner and gonna replace as I’m pretty sure it’s the problem. Is the supercharger tensioner held on by 1 both ? Or how do I remove it

If I remember right it sits on a stud under the coil packs. It should just be a single nut to get it off.
