Default Won't start please help!!

Recently changed my fuel pump and filter on my '85 4.3L. Now I can't get it to start without dropping some gas in the throttle body. I know the filter has to follow the flow. But now I can't just start up. Any suggestions?

Does the fuel pump prime when you first turn the key on? Conduct a fuel pressure test (key on no start) to see if pressure is building prior to engaging the starter motor.

Yeah the pump is priming I was told something about injectors being clogged to use seafoam to release any trash in it. And also I was told that the throttle body isn't getting the prime.

Im having the same problem with mine as well on my 85 ss 350. It started up a few weeks ago now notjing but killing the battery. My next step is to change the fuel pump. I also have a few vacuum lines busted well that cause the problem too????

Yeah, if u have a bad vacuum leak it will cause your car not to start. If I were you I would start off with fixing those vacuum lines. You should try to label them (A to A, B to B, etc.), then take a little "sample" piece of the line that's busted, or if it has more than one size take a small piece of each size to the parts store and they should be able to hook you up. You should try to replace all the lines at once since it sounds like they're getting pretty old. It shouldn't cost much to replace your vacuum lines, it'd be a lot cheaper than a fuel pump. Let us know if this helps.

Nice imma try that and see what happends. The only thing I dont get is that I had gotten it started a few weeks ago and I only started with me puring alittle gas down the carb and after that it stayed on for a while then I turned the car off to see if it would start back up and it did. Now I let it sit for another 3 weeks before I got back to it again and thats when I seen that it wasnt starting and people were saying that it was the fuel pump but now I know that vacuum lines can cause this starting problem to imma just try that out first and then go from there like u say thanks I appreciate it and I will forsure update u on what happend
