Steering Wheel Clicking + Rattle in the back
Hey guys I just bought a 2003 Monte Carlo LS and I have 2 minor (I think?) problems I want to resolve.
The first one that is really bugging me is that when I turn the steering wheel either left or right, going fast or slow. When I do this I get a reverberation through the steering wheel, almost a clicking. It doesnt do it all the time but MOST of the time. Anyone have any ideas what this can be from? I did some research and thought it might be the clockspring(I think thats what its called).. but I dont know how to check that, or if I even should. Next one is the trunk it rattles when I go over bumps... should I just tighten the hydraulic arms? Thanks a bunch guys! |
RE: Steering Wheel Clicking + Rattle in the back
Steering clicking is a very common problem. The steering intermediate shaft needs to be lubed. Dealers have a kit for it.
If you mean the deck lid itself rattles, the latch assy can be adjusted to help with that. |

IS that lube kit something I can do myself or do I need a dealership to do it?

You can probably do it yourself. Got the dealer and speak with them on how the kit works.

Is there any way that a dealership would fix this under any warranty? Is it not a recall or anything of the sort? This is such a pain in the ass to do every year or 2.
