ss oil pressure gauge

hi guys, i have a 03 LS and i bought a SS gauge cluster for it. everything works great but the oil pressure gauge...i know my old cluster had a light instead ofa gauge and that the gauge and light sensors are different.. anyone know if i can just put thesensor out of a 3.8 in my 3.4? and what kind of wiring issues i would have. i know a little bit about wiring cuz i did this stuff in the airforce, just dont know which wires are which or where to get a diagram...thanks
mike

RE: ss oil pressure gauge

the pcm for the 3.4 does not have an oil pressure gauge output.

theres threads that have already discussed this somewhere on this site
somewhere on the net is a story ofa guy tring his best to get it to work, sounds like the closest you can get is to install an aftermarket oil pressure gauge. find one with the same sweep and pressures as your cluster. then rip apart it and your new cluster and make the aftermarket unit drive the needle in the stock cluster. sounds like a real cluster f..... but yea lots of people would have SS clusters in thier LS car if there was a decent way to do it.

Can he replace the PCM with an SS unit?

RE: ss oil pressure gauge

I think he would need to replace the BCM as well as the PCM.
