SS Gauge cluster in LS

Hello; New here. I've read that the SS gauge cluster will work in the Ls except for the oil pressure gauge. how difficult to get the oil pressure gauge to work? Not real familiar with Monte Carlo yet. would you just replace the pressure senser with a sending unit. not even sure yet where the senser is, have to get a manual. should I get any other part besides the gauge cluster while I'm at it. Thanks

I'm honestly not sure if a simple switch/sending unit swap will activate the gauge on the panel. I know with my old '94 Grand Am running a 3100 v6, I could swap the cluster and I just had to swap that switch to a sending unit and the entire cluster worked at that point. But the tech used in my '94 Grand Am and a '00+ Monte is vastly different! I'm sure someone else around here has more input.

As for changing the sending unit... I believe you have a 3400? The pressure switch is in the front of the engine, not far under the exhaust (from the center of the engine a little towards the driver side). You are best using a oil pressure sensor socket and to swap out that unit takes like 5 minutes (I've had to replace a few failed ones on 3100/3400 engines, they are EASY).

Thanks I'll give that a try when I get the cluster
