Screeching Noise

Hi everyone. I'm the proud owner of a 96 Monte Carlo Z34. I'm having trouble finding a noise. It's kind of a screech noise when I drive over a dip or bump. It's really hard to pinpoint. It kind of sounds like it's coming from the rear trunk area, but every once in a while, I'd swear it comes from the left front of the car.

I know it's a reach asking, but, any ideas what to look for?

Thanks in Advance!

if it's over a dip or a bump, first thing i would check is the shocks and struts. a good test is to pop the trunk, put your hands in the trunk and push down on the car, it should go down and bounce up easily, if it's rocking around too much or not coming up so well it's a strut issue.

There are3 control arms in the rear suspension on each side. One is called a trailing arm which mounts to the rear knuckle and extends forward. The two others mount to the knuckle and extend inwards and mount to the rear suspension support. The two that extend inwards can bend very easily. Once they are bent the arm can contact the rear suspension support during movement of the rear suspensionand create a noise similiar to what you are describing.
