Running Out of Options, Monte is intaking rain and carpet is soaked, cant find leak
Got a '95 LS Monte, no sunroof or anything Ok i got back from a trip right after new years to see my carpet was reallly wet on my drivers side, thought it was weird, cleaned it up and then it got wet again, figured it had to be rain. Well took off my trim around the doors and pulled the carpet back and well frankly the pad underneath was SOAKED, drivers, passenger, back, everything. Tried to diagnose the leak with a friend, put some toilet paper up under the dash and it was wet after it rained so figured it was coming from around the winshield area.
Well we took off the cawl(think thats what you call it, the plastic piece right under the wiper blades) and then sprayed a hose all over the car including there and around all the winshield and doors and had someone inside and could not find a leak anywhere.
I just don't understand where its coming from? i mean my carpet pad is SOAKED from front all the way to the back.
The only thing i can think of is to run out to my car when it starts to rain and sit in there to see if i can find it, i just dont see how a hose wouldn't duplicate the results of a rain, any suggestions? ill take anything at this point...

Windshield, needs to be resealed. My 01 started that s#@# when only 6 mos old GM
fixed and installed new carpet and pading.

I was thinking that might be one of the problems, is there anyway to more readily test to make sure, id hate to have to spend the money to go get it resealed and then that not be the problem. and about how much is it anyhow?
Nice day ,warm dry, run water on it not spray ,full stream of water have someone inside looking under dash you will see it leaking ,maybe running down firewall. Thats how i found my leak , GF under dash doing the looking.

Think ive found the leak, FINALLY! i went out there when it was raining today and noticed my headliner was wet and i could see a definite trail so i started peaking and found out it was pretty wet and then my carpet in the back was just soaked. I then started driving, and my carpet was still pulled up on the front passenger side. I braked and then heard a WOOOSH and about a gallon of water rushed into the front passenger side lol.
So im really hoping that it was my only leak, i bought some winshield sealant and sealed up the top corners which it was def coming from one of em, so i sealed the rest just for good measure, and tomorrow im gonna try to dry my car out!

I found mine was leaking around the side window, had to seal it with clear silicone as the car had been repainted and there was a very small "crack" in the paint around the trim. The car was originally purchased as a parts car but was pressed into service as someone sabotaged my Olds 88 and it took time to diagnose that issue. It is now my "back up" car.. Glad I didn't take the engine out after all.... :-)
