Default Royal Purple or Mobil 1???

I have a 2006 5.3L SS I am going to change the oil this weekend. I always use full Synthetic, should I use Royal Purple or Mobil 1?

my family uses royal purple in our 69 dart 340, 96 grand prix se, 95 tahoe, 99 tahoe, 2000 monte carlo ss, but we use mobil 1 in the challenger because it came that way from the factory

Mobil 1 in boosted engines, like the Intimidator SS with the 3.8L S/C, and LadyT's Solstice GXP 2.0L turbo, but Mobil 1 extended performance in the Silverado Z71 5.3L, and the '82 Olds 5.0L. I'm leaning towards the Royal Purple, but in a very recent e-mail from their tech service manager, he explained to me that because of 1600 ppm of anti-wear additives in their product, it doesn't meet GM's spec of 800 ppm. It's a polution concern.
I'm soon to change to Royal Purple XPR 5-30 in the Intimidator SS (when the warranty runs out in 10k miles), but not changing yet in the other 3 vehicles.

How does that extended performance Mobil 1 work for you? Do you think I should use it in my 5.3L?

The Monte, Uplander and even the mower get Mobile 1.

I run a blend in the '73 Vette.

I would use it in ANT vehicle that's not boosted, ie, turbo or s/c.
BUT, you can't go 15,000mi without changing the oil filter and rotating tires half way thru. I do that at 6,000mi, and change oil at 12,000mi.

I always though an oil change had to be done at 3000 miles regardless of synthetic or conventional... am i missing something?
