Replacing Turn Signal Lever on 2007 Monte Carlo
Hi all,
I recently started having a problem where my high beams would turn on whenever I use the turn signal lever. Now their permanently stuck on. I found that I need to replace the entire lever using GM PART: 15289426 Turn signal switch. I figure it won't be too hard just taking off the steering column and replacing, but nothing is ever that easy. Has anyone else ever done this before? I tried searching the web for replacing steering column on the 07 Monte Carlo but I couldn't find anything detailing it exactly. I just don't want to run into any problems and cause my air bag to deploy in my face. |
Hi Mateogp
I've not done it, but the Haynes book says Disable SRS airbag system, remove steering wheel, remove column trim and two screws to remove the switch. Sounds easy - reminds me of the same process I once did on a '79 Fox body Capri that would honk the horn when turning. Can go into more detail from the book if you need. |
