Replacement keyless entry remote
 

When i bought my car it did not come with a remote for the power locks. I am about to order one off ebay but some of them say you must have the factory radio(which i do not have) and some say you can use the key to go into programming mode.

The key in the ignition programming mode seems more likely but do i still need the factory radio?
I just want to make sure before i buy it.

2000 monte carlo SS with aftermarket radio

from what i have been reading, if you do not have the factory radio the dealer must program it for you. Has any one programmed one without the factory radio? I don't want to go to a dealer to get it done so i guess i will just have to deal with not having one. :(

im pretty sure you can go to a quality locksmith and they can do it for you for half the price of a dealer.
