reclining Driver seat back won't latch

I was in my car (2002 Monte) last night and went to adjust the seatback and it won't latch back. I was stuck in a constant reclining position! (I have something bracing the seat up now) I'm not entirely sure what to look for, or really where to start. How do I get the plastic piece off the bottom of the seat to even start looking at what needs replaced? I saw a plastic button on the front that I assume pops off, the lumbar knob pulls off, but not sure where to go from there. The manual I have has how to take the entire seat out but not how to take that piece of plastic trim off around the bottom, that hides all the innards. Hopefully one of you geniuses here can help me yet again! :)

Thanks,
-Dan

RE: reclining Driver seat back won't latch

Hi `Dan,
I've search fora answer to your problem, but could not find.
Hopefully a member will read your post that has some knowledge
on the Monte Carlo Seats, and how to repair them : )
I would suggest that you contact your local dealer, or
a body shop, and get a `free estimate.
They should be able to tell you what part is needed, and what is
wrong. Then you can decide, if you have the abilities to
fix it yourself, or search for the best one to do it.
Wish you good luck in solving your problem.
Oh, Buckle `Up : )
