Rebuilding/relocating e-brake

For the creative DIYers here, could someone clue me in on how to essentially make a handbrake and extend the cables? The factory kick brake is permanently out of commission due to a sacrifice I made for some custom mods and I'd like to get one back and working. Planning on buying a lever and attaching it on one side of the driver seat, so I'd need to extend the cables a few feet.

No idea where to start. Anybody feel like giving me some ideas?

I saw a guy use a Grand Am ebrake setup on his Grand Prix. I'll see if I can find that link for you tonight. Or google that and you may find something.

This was the guy who did the Grand Am e-brake Kuntzie's 01 Turbo GT 5-speed thread----- pg 10 extra special sunday delivery!!

Couldn't find the thread on changing out the e-brake but this may help you search for it.

Wow that swap (both of them actually) is quite impressive. A guy on another forum I'm on did the 6 speed swap. He had to get custom made axles though.
