Question about the 2000–2005 Monte Carlos
This question has been bugging me for a long time.
I know that when you get a Monte Carlo with a sunroof from this gen, you get the overhead console that shows the temperature as well as the compass. But say you get an Impala from this generation WITHOUT the sunroof, is it possible you can still get the compass and the thermometer? I know it was possible in the 2000–2005 Chevrolet Impalas. |
hey

Welcome to the MCF.....I believe anything is possible :) or can be modified. Do you have an Impala ? |
First, the sunroof and the DIC (Driver Information Center, the console with the read out) are not automatic, they don't go hand in hand. Such as my Monte has a factory sun roof, but I don't have a DIC with mine.
The '00-'05 Monte and Impala are very much alike and share common wiring. I have an '04 Monte and my wife has an '05 Impala. I found information on how to make a wiring harness and add the DIC to both cars. I have made the harness and have a pair of DICs for both cars in my garage (I just never got a chance to install them this year). I hope to do so next spring. Here was the source of my information: Impala DIC Retrofit Hope this helps! |
I have a 2000 ordered without a sunroof and I still have the Homelink Overhead Console.
