Power mirror switch bad???

When I try and adjust my mirrors the driver's mirror only moves out, no up, down or inward and the passenger only moves out and up, no down or in. Possibly the power mirror switch on the door?

I had the same issue on my 2001 but did not have to replace the switch. I took it apart and underneath the mirror direction button there is a rubber insert with 7 small metal discs that contact the circuit board when you are pushing the button. The circuit board had some grime on it which I sprayed with electrical cleaner and the switch works as good as new. Also replaced the burnt out light while I was at it.

I was surprised to find that rockauto.com, Oreilly, autozone etc. didn't carry this part. Only the power windows and power locks switches.

Does the panel just pop out to remove the switch or do I have to take the whole door panel apart?

You just have to remove three screws, one small phillips thats recessed at the bottom of the door handle and the two torx screws in the handle opening that go into the door. You then have to flex the handle opening a little while using a screwdriver to pry the panel out.

On the mirror switch you will have to remove the left/right button cover by carefully prying on the sides to unsnap it. You don't have to remove the directional pad. The switch comes apart using a small flat head screwdriver inserted between the two case halves and gently prying them apart.

Hopefully a simple cleaning will save you a few $

Good Morning! '02 MC LS. I've installed 2 brand new mirrors, a new swictch and replaced both fuses. Still no adjustment on the mirrors. Is there a relay somewhere? I can barely read the decal in the boxes in the engine compartment.....
THANKS!
