PCV Valve...clamp?
Ok, so a while back I was going to replace the PCV valve and I noticed that the PCV valve on my car has a clamp on it. The clamp is attached to the engine so I can't remove the pcv valve with out moving the clamp. I thought about cutting it off but if the clamp serves a greater purpose I might do more harm than good if I remove it. Not sure what the deal is with is...Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?
2005, 3.4 L V6. PS. I have a pic in my album...would like to upload it in the post...if anyone knows how I'd appreciate the instructions on how to do this...Thanks! |

Thanks for posting the pic...
I've seen other V6s like mine on the internet and they don't have that clamp...??? |
The hold down keeps the pcv valve seated properly so a vacuum leak doesn't develop. Remove the screw retaining the hold down and the valve will pull out.
