Pcm

Planning to get a pcm I am wondering if they are all the same or does one have somethings the others dont. the only thing I have done to my L38 is put a cai and plan to get a Dp .so getting the pcm first is that putting the cart before the horse. Due a limited income and being retired I plan a few up grades and of for ever chasing mileage. Plus like the fell of the pickup And wondering did anybody have reset the case to set the security code of the care any info will be welcome. I live in Massachusetts [yes I know have heard them all] when we get a inspection sticker and I do the DP and pcm will there machine pickup on the canceled o2 sensor that has deleted ?

I would wait on the PCM until you are done modding. But if it is ONLY going to be a downpipe, you can do it.

The machines that they use will not know. All it does it erase the P0420 code from a computer, so when they hook it up to the machine, it shows that the code wasn't shown for the last 100 miles and you will pass.

Usually people have to do the relearn procedure, but it has been outlined a few times and shouldn't take longer than 20 minutes to do. Also you will still have your old PCM if you really can't get it to fire up.
