P0441 2000 Monte Carlo

I have a 2000 SS Monte with just over 59k miles on it. this week i got a check engine light and it gave me code P0441. I know this is for the EVAP system but I wanted to see if anyone else has thrown this code and had a resolution or a direction to point in. I am planning on going to Chevy today because the gasket on my gas cap is cracked, but has anyone had any other EVAP issues?

I replaced the canister vent valve about a year ago after getting the dreaded P0449 code. No big deal, easy fix.

That's most likely the issue. The problem with P0441, is that it just means there's a leak SOMEWHERE in the whole system. Any plastic line could have the smallest tear and throw that code. Can be annoying to track down.

But the gas cap is probably your problem.

I replaced the gas cap 2 days ago and the issue persists. I will keep updating as I go.

I second this. Same thing happened to me and this corrected it.

Now was this for P0449 or P0441?

I would get your system smoke tested and replace what's wrong. I wouldn't just keep replacing things for no reason. There's a lot of small parts that can throw the P0441, the gas cap is the easiest and most common, so since that wasn't the problem... let a tech just do a quick diagnostic for you.

For me it was the P0449. I was just answering the question of whether anyone had experienced any other EVAP issues...

I had this code and replaced the EVAP canister and the gas cap, but the problem turned out to be the fuel tank pressure sensor. About $50 and a few minutes of installation and CEL reset and I was good to go.
