overheating
 

Is this a common problem with mc,my new problem is the gauge goes up to about half and then goes back down.I put in a new thermostat,water pump,drained the system twice,tried purging it no antifreeze comes out.When should the fans go on,checking them out today.Thanks again for all the help

Halfway on the gauge is the stock reading for the 195° thermostat

Fans kick on at 212°

Thanks for that info is hot when I take off the radiator cap off also why would the gauge be going up and down

Stop and go driving? Or all open air??

Went for a drive 250 miles would that tell me

Just was wondering if the temperature rose while stopped in traffic, then went down when moving because that would be 100% normal.

seems to do that in both situations,any reason why it wouldnt purge all the air out of the system

When you replaced the thermostat, you bled the air out completely correct?

You just open the thermostat bleed screw and wait for the car to get to normal operating temperature where the thermostat would open. Could take 10-15 minutes

Did that to nothing coming out,is it suppose to put out a little anti freeze when the air is all out.

Yes, once the antifreeze starts to come out is when you stop and tighten the bleeder back up.
