Default ok i need some help with temp sensor

about 4 days ago while driving my temp gauge dropped to 0 so i changed the temp sensor. it worked great not 2 days later driving home from work and the gauge just dropped to 0 again. is it possible that this sensor has gone bad in just 2 days ? it is covered under warranty from auto zone so i have no problem changing it again if neccessary but i am kind of curious if there could be a bigger or different issue here that i am over looking.

I would replace the sensor but check the sensor connector for loose wires. I've bought brand spanking new sensors that died within days of being installed so it isn't a rare occurrence.

I also replaced the thermostat when my temp gauge went out...it's like $8 from o'reilly's, you might just replace it too? Also, you may have to clear the check engine code if you have one and it didn't go off?

thank you guys. i just put the thermostat in a couple days ago when i changed the sensor. went out and just started wiggling the wire around and the gauge started to work so now it looks like my next project is to trace the wire for the bad connection.. somehow this does not sound fun but at least going in the right direction.. thank you

Don't rule out the stepper motors in the dashboard. They are a bad part and have since been upgraded.
