Oil Pressure Sensor - Location???

My "Getting-tired" Monte threw a Oil Pressure Sensor Code.
Can't find it in my Haynes Manual.

Who knows where it is and how big a pain it is to replace.

Tnx,

Rick

Mine is on the bracket your oil filter connects to. Kind if hard to get to but easy job

If it's the same as an 07 LS then it's screwed on right above the oil filter. I was able to change mine from underneath getting some oil on my face with a small cheap socket wrench and an oil pressure sending unit socket. Just removed oil filter and you can reach your hand above it and feel it, shine your light and see the wires.

I read other people use an extension and go in from below the intake, you can see what you're doing (and the unit itself) if you shine a flashlight from above on the passenger side of the car. So you dont have to get under you car. IF it's the same as 07, not sure. I know 06 is same.

The '04 LS has a 3400 engine. This is a piece of cake and can be done without going under the car or lifting the car. I can do it in about 5 minutes.

I recommend having the proper oil pressure sending socket. If you looking at the engine, the oil pressure switch is under the front exhaust manifold, it's near impossible to see from up top, but you can reach and feel for it with no problem. Start from the center of the engine and then reach just a little towards the driver side, and you'll feel the connector and the switch. From there, the socket, a ratchet and possibly a short extension and you should be done pretty quick.
