Info: My 01 Monte wouldn't start. Security message on display. Starting was allways hit or miss. After putting with this for about a year, because I couldn't afford to get it fixed. I finally save enough money an took it to a dealer, I was told the key cylinder was bad, $438.00 to fix. I go to pick the car up, get in, won't start! Same problem, two days laterI Iget "the call", We had to replace the computor$380.00. Beware of the dealer.I hope this helps some people out!

 

Well they should have to foot the bill for the ignition cylinder. That's too bad that they misdiagnosed the car though.
