need some help with Hesitation

Ok some time ago my car went for a small swim. thank god it didnt screw it up to bad.

But i have noticed that since then i have delt with a miss and also a hessitation if im driving down the road and stop on it it like slipps before taking off.
when i pulled codes it says a random miss. (go figure i got this one pretty quick)
But now the check engin light has come on and i havent figured this one out yet.

I did take out the plugs and wires and think it might be a broken wire, So any other things to check let me know. or any ideas what it might be[:@]

Is the current code still a random misfire?
I believe coil packs are the most troublesome part of our ignition system.

yeah this is still the current codes in the car.
funny thing is i have tried to clear it and also reprogram the computer to the stock version agian. and it has poped a code again. But. you cant feel it when your giving it gas as often but it is defently there at a Idle.

I would start by removing your coil packs and cleaning and re-greasing the connection underneath. Re-install them in different locations, just because.

ok will try that. didnt think of trying to clean the connection on them.

lol hate the new eletronics crap. so much easier back in the day. get it dry and it ran good again

Personally, I like the new stuff. Ive had too much problems with old style ignition than I EVER have with the electronic stuff and fuel injection. Get some water in your gas with a carb, and it won't run. EFI don't care, just use clean gas. No thanks, I'll keep my electronic ignition, even with troubles. Never got 100,000miles on plugs with a distributor. Now it's nothing. Points burning up? NO THANKS! I had a dual point system break a set of points one time. stopped me cold!
Besides, yours went for a swim!

Time to upgrade to MSD Ignition Coils. :)

I wouldn't spend the money again on the MSD's unless they were cheaper than factory coils. BUT, I would NOT buy any other replacement coils .

yeah it did go for a swim.
man i raced for years on HEI stuff an deven points but the points wernt my fav.

As far as the MSD stuff i have heard that it was not as good as the stock stuff.
i might have to do some reserch on this also. mine are painted not MSD. :-)
but honestly would not care one way or the other if it would just run correctly again i can live with the black coils undr the hood. but i know painting them didnt do this to it. it was painted for a year or better and hadent swam before all of this happend.

I also have to get the filter etc. on teh tranny changed again. I do it about once a year mise well get it all done at once . just did the oil and filter .
Finally found a place that can clean and recover the syn. tranny fluids. witch is pretty nice considering when i left they were hard pressed to even have it on the shelf at the the local auto parts stores.

I was actually kidding with that post. Should have put a LOL in there. :(

I would replace them with stock coils again. I can't see why they wouldn't be interchangeable with junkyard ones though so I would try them first.
