hey guys i got a question. my 2001 monte calro ss wont start unless i keep giving it gas. Than when it does start it idles real low like its about too die. Now when i driving it acts fine but when i come to a stop it either idle reall high like (2000) grand or idle very low. IT cant be a fuel issue cuz i checked the pressure and prior too i change the fuel pump and fuel filter due too other problems. i wanna say its a vacuum leak but i never heard of a vaccum leak being the cuz of a not starting problem

 

I would run some STP Fuel Injector cleaner though it to start off and also try running some E-10 gas as well. The E-10 has some ethenol in it and by it's nature it will help clean up the fuel system.

 

have a shop hook up a computer to the car. It could be alot of things from bad fuel injectors to a bad MAF to a vacume leak.

run a can of seafoam through the car
1/3 can in the vacume line will clean out the throttle body and everything and then the rest in the gas tank will clean out the injectors.

works awesome and its fun to watch the smoke show after....that should clean out your whole system

yup, just pull the vacume line off the brake booster while the car is running, stick the can up to the hose, tip can, let it suck about 1/3 of the can through, either shut off or try to stall the car, then let it sit for about 10 min, while your waiting pour the rest of the can in the gas tank. after 10 min start car back up and rev it up really good and you will blow smoke out the exhaust everywhere...once the smoke starts to slow down then take it for a good drive..and DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT !!
