Loud Noise?

Hello, My Mother has a 2004 Monte Carlo LS (3.4 Liter)
I'll try to be as descriptive as possible sorry if it is a little unclear.

Recently when she is driving there is a loud constant noise sounding almost like a race car. When turning the wheel towards the left, the noise stops, but straight or right the noise continues.
We thought it was the wheel hub, we replaced it but it continued, we also replaced both axles which seemed to do the trick for about 2 months before the noise returned again.

Putting the car into Neutral while driving doesn't affect the noise it still continues.
Any thoughts?
-Thank You

Which hub did you replace ? What shape is the other hub ?

We replaced the driver side hub.
I would say humming sound? gets louder at i increase in speed.
It stopped once we replaced the axles but only for about a month or two and then it started up again.

And what do you mean what shape is the other hub?

_Thank you

I think he means what condition is the other wheel hub, or wheel bearing in. Wheel bearings fail on these cars quite often. One thing you don't want to do is get the cheapest bearing you can, it will most likely fail and probably quite soon. From what I've seen members on here talk about timken hubs very highly. To me it sounds like a wheel bearing failing.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's the other wheel hub, we replaced the driver side with a timkin.
Will do the same with the passenger.

Alright good luck, keep us posted.
