Lost & Desperate for Help #2

I had the post up here awhile ago about having the rpm's surges in a 2003 monte ss. Well we have replaced the PVC, Thermostat, coolant sensor, the fuel filter and cleaned out the IAC with carb cleaner and a brush until it shining again. We also replaced the battery in the car, we realized it was from 2001. When the car was warm this morning it shot up to almost 2,000 rpm's again. We have had it checked for leaks and nothing has been found, there is no computer errors. We have noticed though that when we unplug the battery to try and rest the it to show the computer there are new sensors, that all the of radio stations and such don't have to be reset after the battery is plugged back in, is there another way to reset the computer in the car? We are completely desperate to fix the rpm surges in the car.

disconnect the battery for atleast an hour if you only unplug it for less then 30 min you prob wont reset it.

the surging sounds like a vaccum leak... either vac line or gasket leak. you can spray starting fluid or carb cleaner around the intake parts and listen for surges in the rpm to find the leak
