Keyless Entry Remote is out

I have a 2001 monte SS. The keyless entry remote stopped working. I'm guess its out of batteries. How can I get it working again? Can I open it up and simply replace the battery or do I have to get a new remote?

Battery can be replaced, just pop the cover. The remote on mine kept acting up, would work sometimes and not others. I discovered that the clip that holds the battery had broken the solder contact with the board. Not wanting to ruin the board by trying to re-solder it I put a small piece of cardboard in the remote to force the clip down, back into position.

Good luck.

Whats the best way to pop the cover?

Its easy to pop the cover. In case someone runs into this issue, the battery is a CR2032.

I changed the battery on the remote, but I still can't lock/unlock the doors. Any idea on whats wrong? Something must be busted on the car.

Remote

I bought a remote with remote starter on E-BAY for my 07 SS for $20.00.At the dealership it was $156.00. When I got the remote it came with a web site to program the remote, it work great. No problems with it.
