RE: ignition replacment question

If it's anything like my '01 it blew chunks! went out removing the stereo to put in this car. cost me over $100 for the locksmith. it's complicated he told me. but that's on an '01. not sure about the earlier models.

RE: ignition replacment question

i have a 96 monte they have the same parts... it is a major PITA

you need a special steering wheel remover, and a lock plate removal tool.if your going that deep in the car, you should replace the turnsignal switch these all fail on these cars. its not if but when it will fail... and when it does you loose your brake lights! if you have that much apart you might as well take care of it early. for your first time is prob gonna be 2-3 hours work. if you have the right tools maybe 1-2 hours
