Default New Monte Carlo squealing when braking

I just purchased a 2002 Monte Carlo Dale Earnhardt edition. Based on the carfax report, it has been driven about 300 miles in the past 13 months, and only 2 miles in the past 4 months. I have put about 30 on it so far since buying. The issue is that the brakes squeal almost every time I brake. It is a high pitched squeal, my dad cannot even hear it. My first assumption was that it was some sort of buildup or moisture remaining from simply not being driven. But, if that was it, wouldn't have started to fade away fairly quickly? I am not intelligent about cars at all, any opinions would be appreciated.

Also, brand new to the forum, I hope this is the right place for this

Hard to say for sure, but there's a good chance that the material is just going bad. I would honestly just change the brakes out since you don't know the maintenance history of the car.
